this is the privacy policy for jameshype.com and all of its subdomains — the main site and every James Hype fan page, where you can claim free downloads, watch sets, or save shows for later by submitting your email or phone.
it explains, in plain English, what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and what your rights are. read it before submitting anything to one of our forms.

to reach us about your data, use the data request form at the bottom of this page or write to the postal address above. we aim to respond within 7 days and complete any request within one calendar month (the GDPR deadline). if you're in the UK and we can't sort it, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
because we're a US controller processing data of fans in the EU and UK, we've appointed Euverify Ltd as our representative in both jurisdictions under Article 27 of the EU and UK GDPR. if you're in the EU or UK, you can contact them about anything to do with your personal data — they'll forward it to us and track our response.

we do not collect or store your IP address, device fingerprint, browsing history, or any analytics tracking on the submission pages. there are no third-party trackers on the form pages.
on the "save this show" and get closer pages, we also collect:
if you give us a phone number for show alerts, we use it only to text you about James Hype shows and drops. message & data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and you can reply STOP to any message to opt out or HELP for help. we never share your number with anyone else for their marketing, and SMS consent is not a condition of any purchase.
under UK GDPR, every bit of data we process needs a "lawful basis." here's ours:

we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside the processors listed below.
your data passes through a few third-party services to make the system work. they all process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements (DPAs) where applicable.

some of these providers are based outside the UK/EU. where that's the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data. we do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other ad-tracking on the forms.
if you upload a file that happens to contain sensitive personal information, don't worry — if we don't need it, we ignore it, and the file is deleted once your submission has been verified. you're also welcome to crop or blur out anything you'd rather not share before uploading. we only ever look at what we need to confirm your submission.

unsubscribing from the mailing list is a one-click link in the footer of every email we send — you don't need to fill in the form for that.
if we change anything material, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. for big changes we'll email everyone on the mailing list before they take effect.
the form pages don't set any cookies. the main jameshype.com site sets only essential cookies required to make the site work (no tracking, no analytics, no advertising cookies).
